Illo Friday-Portrait (Late)
Thought I’d play catch-up here and at least contribute locally to the Portrait topic from June 2. This piece is inspired from some vintage sepia portraits I found online. The subjects all appear to be Dutch, which also happens to describe a good number of my ancestors and the origin of my surname. I chose this subject because she bears a striking resemblance to my grandmother.

This is really nice. The stylization reminds me a lot of poster art from the late 1800s/early 1900s (Mucha, etc.), and I loooove that stuff. I’m going to go check out the rest of your blog now… just popped over from Technorati.
