It´s a broken heart!
Lovely piece.
This is beautiful and makes me weep for our broken world of diminishing nature …
What’s cool is that I could not make out the second image. I saw a ‘broken heart’ in the shading, but after about 20 seconds I made out the two mute swans. Wizzo! Symbolism galore!

Thanks. I still feel like my painting is only as good as the photographs I’m referencing, but I’m getting more comfortable with Painter and gaining a bit more control.
